If you are planning on ordering fluting, the smallest contour that can be fluted is the #6 Heavy Bull Sporter.  Barrels with narrower diameters cannot be fluted

Explanation of “Minimum Contours”

Krieger will only produce larger caliber barrels to a certain minimim size in stainless steel. This for safety and liability reasons, as they have no way on knowing what cartridge a particular caliber is destined for. The numbers shown represent the smallest contour in which theose barrel are avaiable. See the associated number on the chart below. Customers buikding hunting rifles and wanting light barrels will likely need to use Chromoly steel.
